MILAN, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Italy's Eni ENI.MI said on
Tuesday the U.S. Department of Justice had closed investigations
into alleged corruption by the energy group in Nigeria and
Algeria without taking any action.
Eni, the biggest foreign oil and gas producer in Africa, is
currently on trial in Milan on graft allegations revolving round
the acquisition of Nigerian oilfield OPL-245 in 2011.
"Eni reiterates that neither the Company nor its management
was involved in any alleged corrupt activities in relation to
the OPL-245 transaction in Nigeria," Eni said.
