Investing.com — The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) said Wednesday that it has reached a deal with the NFL for ESPN to present the Monday night Wild Card game beginning with the 2021 season.
Disney, which owns 80% of ESPN, said the 5-year deal will continue through to the 2025 season with the inaugural Monday night NFL Wild Card game played on January 17, 2022.
It marks the finale of the NFL’s Super Wild Card Weekend and the first weekday prime-time NFL playoff game.
The Monday Night Wild Card game will be streamed on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, ABC and NFL digital properties, and through Yahoo Sports.
Shares of Disney dipped 0.87% at $171.63, and are down 5.29% for the year-to-date.
