60%+ returns in 2025: Here’s how AI-powered stock investing has changed the game
Investing.com -- Etihad Airways has placed firm orders for six A330-900s and seven additional A350-1000s at the Dubai Airshow, expanding its Airbus widebody fleet.
The UAE carrier also ordered three more A350F freighters, bringing its total commitment for the cargo variant to 10 aircraft. Additionally, Etihad announced it would lease nine A330-900s from Avolon.
With these new orders, Etihad’s A350-1000 fleet will grow to 27 aircraft, strengthening its long-haul capabilities.
"These aircraft strengthen our operations across medium-haul, long-haul, and cargo," said Antonoaldo Neves, Etihad Airways CEO. "The A330neo brings the right combination of efficiency and flexibility for our regional and mid-range growth, while the A350-1000 continues to deliver exceptional performance on our long-haul network."
Neves added that the A350F freighters would add "significant capability" to Etihad’s cargo division as global demand expands.
Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus EVP Sales of the Commercial Aircraft business, called Etihad’s investment "a testament to the strength of our partnership" that would deliver "unmatched efficiency and flexibility" to the airline’s operations.
The A350 can fly up to 9,700 nautical miles non-stop and offers 25% better fuel efficiency compared to previous generation competitor aircraft, according to Airbus. The A350F features the largest main deck cargo door in the industry and will meet ICAO’s enhanced CO₂ emissions standards coming into effect in 2027.
The A330neo, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, can fly up to 8,100 nautical miles and reduces fuel burn and CO2 emissions by 25% compared to previous generation competitor aircraft.
