Following the election of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Japan at the end of 2012, the spectre of global currency wars is back. The role of central banks across G3 economies and beyond appears to be ever increasing, and its impact is being felt across the FX markets. Traditional safe havens have disappeared, emerging market economies are struggling to respond to moves from developed nations and volatility finally appears to be making a return. 2013 is shaping up to be an exciting and challenging year for all those investing in or managing their exposure to the foreign exchange markets.
The Euromoney Forex Forum will return on May 8 for its 13th year with a new format and plenty of new topics for discussion. Expert investors, bankers and economists will once again take to the stage to address the prominent macroeconomic themes of the day, examining the impact of global central bank policies, politics and local economic trends on the markets. As well as these sessions, delegates will also have the chance to listen to more intimate and technical discussions surrounding developments in trading platforms, risk management and trading strategies for the year ahead.
Topics for discussion at this year’s event include:
- The Return of Fundamentals: What’s driving FX investment, and how can you navigate the markets with accuracy?
- G3 Currencies and the Impact of Unorthodox Monetary Policy
- Low Volatility: The New Normal?
- E-Trading: Man vs Machine
- Pricing Risk in Uncertain Markets
- The New Generation of Platforms
- Trading Strategies: Making a Return in 2013
- Pricing and Transaction Cost Analysis
- FX as an Asset Class
- Regulation
- Emerging Market Currencies and China
- Havens/False Havens
- Forecasting: What Lies Ahead for the Year to Come?
This year’s event will once again bring together hundreds of leading investors, central bankers, world class economists, service providers and corporate treasurers. It is an event not to be missed by all those investing in, or managing their exposure to the global foreign exchange markets.
