DUBAI - LifeSafe Holdings plc (AIM:LON:LIFS) has received approval from the United Arab Emirates Civil Defence for its 6-litre fire extinguisher designed to combat lithium-ion battery fires, the company announced Monday.

The fire safety technology business said the approved product features its Thermal Runaway Fluid (TRF), which is engineered to extinguish lithium-ion battery fires and prevent reignition. The approval was secured through the company’s distribution partner, Singapore-based Lingjack Engineering Works Pte Ltd.

This UAE certification follows similar approvals from the Philippines Bureau of Fire Protection and Qatar Civil Defence announced on February 27, 2025.

"Accreditation for new products within the global fire industry continues to be a complex and lengthy process," said Dominic Berger, Chairman of LifeSafe, in the press release statement.

The company’s distribution partner expressed optimism about the product’s market potential. "The demand for an effective, environmentally-friendly solution to combat the unique challenges of extinguishing lithium-ion battery fires is very substantial," said Kenneth Lim, CEO of Lingjack.

The UAE approval represents an expansion of the company’s market reach in the Middle East region for its specialized fire safety equipment.
