Heritage Distilling Holding Company Inc. (CASK) announced its adoption of an "IP Strategy" focused on accumulating $IP tokens, the native token of the Story blockchain network. The company stated it is the first Nasdaq-listed company to implement a treasury reserve strategy centered on $IP tokens.
The strategy includes the appointment of an advisory and governance team with members from technology and financial backgrounds. Expected appointees include Phil Blows as Chief Investment Officer, Ben Sternberg as Strategic Finance Advisor, David Lee as Board Member Nominee, and Erick Zhang as Board Member Nominee.
Heritage plans to launch a website at www.ipstrategy.co featuring a Treasury Dashboard that will display the company’s share price, market capitalization, $IP token holdings, and net asset value calculations. The dashboard will provide stock chart data powered by TradingView with a 15-20 minute delay.
The company’s strategy builds on a $220 million PIPE financing that included participation from institutional investors such as a16z crypto, Amber Group, Arrington Capital, and others. Cantor Fitzgerald and Roth Capital Partners served as placement agents for the financing.
Story, the blockchain network behind $IP tokens, raised $136 million from investors including a16z crypto, Polychain, and Samsung Ventures. The network launched its mainnet in February 2025 and focuses on making intellectual property programmable through blockchain technology.
"This new strategy marks our full embrace of intellectual property as a new, programmable asset class for this publicly traded company," said Seung Yoon Lee, CEO and Co-founder of PIP Labs and Chairman of the Heritage Advisory Board.
The information is based on a company press release statement.
