TSX lower as gold rally takes a breather
Investing.com-- U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday that there have been “very positive discussions with Hamas” to end the war in Gaza and for the release of hostages, as delegations prepared to gather in Egypt to finalize the terms.
"These talks have been very successful, and proceeding rapidly. The technical teams will again meet Monday, in Egypt, to work through and clarify the final details," Trump said in a Truth Social post.
"I am told that the first phase should be completed this week, and I am asking everyone to MOVE FAST," he added
Egypt, working alongside Qatar and the U.S., is mediating the talks. Trump has put forward a 20-point proposal to halt the Gaza conflict, secure the release of hostages, and outline the territory’s future governance, with both Israel and Hamas agreeing to certain elements of it.
"TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE OR, MASSIVE BLOODSHED WILL FOLLOW — SOMETHING THAT NOBODY WANTS TO SEE!" Trump wrote.
