Gold prices tick higher on fresh U.S. tariff threats, Fed rate cut hopes
Investing.com-- An American Airlines (NASDAQ:AAL) regional jet collided mid-air with a military helicopter near Washington, D.C. on Wednesday evening, resulting in both aircraft crashing into the Potomac River, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said.
“We’re aware of reports that American Eagle (NYSE:AEO) flight 5342, operated by PSA, with service from Wichita, Kansas (ICT) to Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA) has been involved in an incident. We will provide information as it becomes available,” American Airlines said in a post on social media X.
According to reports, emergency response teams, including fireboats, were promptly dispatched to the crash site to search for survivors. In response to the incident, the airport suspended all takeoffs and landings to facilitate rescue operations.
