Moody’s downgrades Senegal to Caa1 amid rising debt concerns
Investing.com -- Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM) on Friday gained nearly 2% after reporting that its consolidated shipments for the third quarter of 2025 reached an estimated 1.3 million units, representing a 13% increase compared to the same period last year.
The global automaker saw its strongest growth in North America, where shipments surged by approximately 104,000 units or 35% year-over-year. This significant improvement was attributed to normalized inventory dynamics following last year’s inventory reduction initiative that had temporarily reduced production.
The growth also included initial deliveries of the HEMI V8-powered Ram 1500.
Enlarged Europe contributed to the overall increase with shipments rising by approximately 38,000 units, an 8% year-over-year improvement.
This growth was primarily driven by the production start of four new B-segment "Smart Car" platform vehicles: Citroën C3, Citroën C3 Aircross, Opel Frontera, and Fiat Grande Panda, none of which were in production during the same period last year.
However, these gains were partially offset by lower shipments of Light Commercial Vehicles and reduced deliveries in certain high-volume countries.
In other regions, Stellantis recorded a net increase of 10,000 units, representing a 3% year-over-year rise. The Middle East & Africa region showed strong performance with a 21% increase, mainly due to expanded local production of FIAT products in Algeria and positive market developments in Türkiye and Egypt.
South America experienced a modest 3% decrease in shipments, with 7,000 fewer units compared to Q3 2024.
The company explained this reduction reflects an unusually high comparison base in the third quarter of 2024, when Stellantis recovered Brazilian shipments that had been delayed by floods in Rio Grande do Sul during the second quarter of that year.
