Investing.com-- Elon Musk advocated for leveraging artificial intelligence to replace certain government functions, criticizing the U.S. government’s inefficiency during a closed-door session at the Milken Institute Global Conference, Bloomberg reported on Monday.

In a conversation with financier Michael Milken, Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Musk discussed the potential of AI to assume roles currently held by public workers, the Bloomberg report said.

This perspective aligns with his leadership of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), where he oversees initiatives aimed at reducing federal spending and workforce size.

Reuters on Sunday reported that over 15,000 employees of the U.S. Department of Agriculture have accepted financial incentives to leave their positions, representing approximately 15% of its workforce.

This is part of a broader effort by the Trump administration, in collaboration with Musk, to streamline federal operations.

Musk’s remarks at the conference also touched on developments at his companies, Neuralink and SpaceX, highlighting his continued focus on technological innovation across various sectors.
