Gold bars to be exempt from tariffs, White House clarifies
Investing.com-- Elon Musk said on Thursday that he will not decommission the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, walking back an earlier threat to do so over a public feud with President Donald Trump.
Replying to a post commenting on Musk’s earlier threat to decommission the spacecraft, Musk said he won’t scuttle the spacecraft. “We won’t decommission Dragon,” Musk said.
Musk had earlier threatened to decommission the craft after Trump raised the prospect of cutting government contracts with Musk’s companies. SpaceX is a major beneficiary of contracts from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and is also a major provider of spacecrafts to the agency.
SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft had earlier this year helped rescue two astronauts stranded aboard the International Space Station, after a flight using a Boeing (NYSE:BA) spacecraft went awry.
Musk and Trump became embroiled in a bitter, public feud this week, seemingly over Musk’s criticism of a major tax and spending bill backed by Trump. They both engaged in personal attacks against each other on social media, with the feud also wiping out some $150 billion of market capitalization from Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA).
