Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) is recalling 3,878 Cybertrucks due to an issue where the accelerator pedal pad could dislodge and become trapped by the interior trim, according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
TSLA fell 1.7% in premarket trading Friday.
The regulators said that the defect may lead to unintended acceleration, heightening the risk of a crash.
Tesla service centers will repair or replace the accelerator pedal assembly at no cost to owners.
The company’s shares closed 3.5% lower at $147.40 on Thursday, sitting at their lowest levels in over a year.
