Personal Spending measures the change in the value of all spending by consumers. Consumer spending accounts for a majority of overall economic activity. This report does, however, tend to have a mild impact, as government data on retail sales is released about two weeks earlier.

A reading that is stronger than forecast is generally supportive (bullish) for the USD, while a weaker than forecast reading is generally negative (bearish) for the USD.
