Rob began his career in stockbroking in 1985, moving into multi-manager field in 1991. He is a chartered fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and holds their diploma.

Biography Paul Carne is a Fund Manager in the Fund of Funds team and is responsible for overseeing F&C’s proprietary quantitative and risk analysis as well as the Traffic Light Analysis (TLA) fund screening process. He joined F&C in July 2008 from Crosby Partners where he was the Head of Risk & Portfolio Analytics. Prior to this Paul was an Investment Funds Analyst at Quilter & Co, having started his investment career in 1998 at Coutts & Co as an Investment Administrator. Paul has a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Northumbria and is a CFA charterholder.

Biography Paul Niven is Managing Director and Head of Multi-Asset Portfolio Management. He is also Fund Manager for the F&C Investment Trust. Paul joined the firm in 1996 and has worked in Asset Allocation and Investment Strategy since 1999. Paul has had responsibility for the management of Multi-Asset mandates within the group since 2002 and is Chair of the Investment Policy Group. Paul graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Economics, obtained an MPhil in Finance, and is a member of the UK CFA Institute.

Biography Dean Cheeseman is a Portfolio Manager on the UK-based Multi-Asset Team at Janus Henderson Investors. He has co-managed the International Opportunities strategy since 2019. Prior to joining the firm in 2017, he was a portfolio manager and member of the asset allocation committee from 2011 at Mercer, where he contributed tactical asset allocation ideas for all multi-asset and equity strategies. Before that, Dean was with F&C Asset Management from 2007 to 2010, finishing his tenure as head of fund of funds. Earlier, he was head of developed markets with Forsyth Partners from 2001 and head of collective investments at Morgan Stanley’s Quilter from 1998. He began his career as an investment analyst in 1995 with Chartwell House Asset Management. Dean holds a BA degree (Hons) in financial services from Nottingham Trent University. He has 24 years of financial industry experience.
Oliver Sonnbichler - 2009 2010
Biography Oliver Sonnbichler is a Fund Manager in the Fund of Funds team. He joined F&C in October 2008. Prior to F&C, Oliver worked in projects for business consultants Navigant Consulting. He has also held positions as Head of Equity Fund Research at UBS Private Bank and Head of Third-Party Funds at Morgan Stanley Private Bank. Oliver has a Bachelor of Commerce and GDA from the University of Cape Town and an H.Dip Tax from the University of Witwatersrand. Oliver is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
