Biography | Suniti Naran began her career in 1995 at Alexander Forbes in the Retirement Funds Division where she was an actuarial specialist performing statutory actuarial valuations of pension funds. In 1999, Suniti moved to London and joined Towers Perrin as an actuarial analyst and was promoted to an actuarial associate in 2000. Again, she performed statutory pension fund valuations. She was also involved in disclosure calculations for pension fund reporting and the preparation of disclosure reports. She assisted in creating an asset liability model. She was involved in performing benefit audits for various European clients to harmonise benefits in different countries. At the end of 2001, Suniti moved back to South Africa and pursued her actuarial exams. In 2004, Suniti joined Investment Solutions as an assistant in the Large Institutional Client Servicing area. She was responsible for compiling reports for large clients on a quarterly basis as well as servicing these clients. She also presented to clients on alternative structured product solutions. After spending a year in this department, Suniti joined the Investment Team as a portfolio manager of the local balanced, real return and Namibian portfolio ranges. Suniti plays an integral role in constructing, managing and monitoring these portfolios. In September 2009, she was appointed as a director on the Investment Solutions Unit Trust Board. In November 2009, Suniti was promoted to head up the Multi Asset Class Team. |
