Biography | Founding partner, Chairman and Chilean Equities Portfolio Manager. Pablo Echeverría is Portfolio Manager of Moneda S.A.’s Chilean equity funds: Pionero, Colono and Moneda Chile Fund. In 1994, he participated in the creation and launch of the Pionero Mutual Investment Fund, the first ever small caps fund in Chile. In 1995 he was involved in launching the Moneda Chile Fund, the first and only Foreign Capital Investment Fund investing in small and mid cap shares listed on the Chilean stock exchange, and in 1996 he took part in the creation of the Colono Investment Fund, now envisioned as a mirror to the Pionero Fund. He continues to manage these three funds today. Mr. Echeverría began his career in 1989 as an investment operator in the Santa María AFP (pension fund administrator). He then worked as an investment analyst in the Investment Company Chile S.A. (IMCO) from 1989 to 1994, where he subsequently became Investment Manager, running one of the first foreign debt to share conversion funds in Chile. With 20 years’ experience in share markets, Mr. Echeverría has been involved in numerous and varied transactions in the Chilean markets on behalf of the Pionero, Colono and Moneda Chile Funds, including the acquisition of 5% of La Polar and 5% of Esval in 2003, 25% of Laboratorio Andrómaco in 2004, 3.5% of Almendral in 2005 and 8% of Salfacorp in 2006, all companies which remain in the funds’ portfolios to this day. In addition, Pablo Echeverría is a Director of Punta del Cobre S.A., Laboratorios Andrómaco S.A and Watts S.A.
