Prior to joining First Trust Advisors L.P., Mr. Futrell held various positions in portfolio management and research. The CFA charter is a globally respected, graduate-level investment credential established in 1962 and awarded by CFA Institute — the largest global association of investment professionals. Biography Davern joined Nuveen Advisory as a vice president and portfolio manager in 1992. Previously, he spent three years as an assistant vice president and senior credit analyst with Van Kampen Merritt, and five years as a senior municipal analyst with FUJI Bank. Davern is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of both the National Association of Municipal Analysts and the Association for Investment Management and Research.
