| Biography | Mr. Chan joined Public Bank in 1974 and has more than 30 years of banking experience. He was mainly involved in various aspects of Treasury activities involving foreign exchange trading, swaps and other derivative products. In 1985, he became Head of the Swap Desk and also managed the Asian Currency Unit desk of the bank. In 1990, he was transferred to Public Finance Bhd and assumed the position of Head of Money Market Department. His functions include the optimum utilisation of funds available and he also led a team into active bond trading activities, both in private debt securities and Malaysian government securities. Apart from this, he was also an active member of the Public Finance Management team where he assisted in formulating the various funding policies of the company. In 2002, Mr. Chan was transferred back to Public Bank to head the Funding and Fixed Income Sections of the Treasury Division. In 2004, Mr. Chan assumed the position of Senior Manager- Investment in Public Mutual, overseeing the Fixed Income Section of the Investment Department. He was promoted to Assistant General Manager in 2005. | ||
