Prior to this he spent 13 years as a Fund Manager with Newton Investment Management, specialising in UK Equities. He was the lead manager on the Newton UK Opportunities Fund from 2005, alongside associated institutional mandates. Mr. Russon had prior experience at Newton in the research function, specialising in the global food retail sector. Wider responsibilities also included global equity investment with the Newton Osprey Fund. He is the lead manager of the Newton Global Emerging Markets Fund and a member of the team managing the Asian Income strategy. Since joining Newton in 1999, Robert has worked as a global industry analyst specialising in the mining, paper, steel, tobacco and utility sectors, before becoming a portfolio manager. Since early 2011, Robert has been the lead manager on our emerging market equity strategies. Robert began his career at Deloitte & Touche as a supervisor in the financial services practice. He holds the ACA (Chartered Accountant) and ASIP (Investment) qualifications. 16 years at Newton 20 years’ investment experience
