Biography | James Thorne joined the company in 2010 as a portfolio manager in the UK equities team. He is lead manager of the CT UK Smaller Companies Fund, deputy manager of the CT UK Sustainable Equity Fund and co-manager of the CT UK Mid 250 Fund as well as for a range of small and mid-cap institutional portfolios. He has previously held responsibility for a range of sectors for the wider team including chemicals and technology. James has extensive experience of the smaller companies sector, having worked at Baring Asset Management, Hill Samuel and Abbey Life as well as private equity company 3i. He has a BSc in Oceanography with Geology from the University of Southampton and an MSc in Instrumentation and Analytical Science from the University of Manchester. | ||

Biography | Matt is a portfolio manager in the Sustainable Equity team at Ninety One and is responsible for the UK Sustainable Equity and UK Smaller Companies strategies. Matt is based in the London office. Before joining the firm, Matt worked for Threadneedle as a portfolio manager in the UK equities team. He was co-manager of the Threadneedle UK Smaller Companies Fund, the Threadneedle UK Mid 250 Fund and a range of small cap institutional portfolios. He was also lead manager of the Threadneedle UK Ethical Equity Fund and was responsible for stock analysis and idea generation for the wider team. Prior to joining Threadneedle, Matthew was a portfolio manager at Legal & General Investment Management specialising in UK Small Caps. He graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Geography and Sports Science. In addition, Matt holds the Investment Management Certificate. | ||

Biography | Simon Haines is a portfolio manager in the Global Equities team. He took up this role in November 2013 and is currently lead manager across the desk’s EAFE and Shariah portfolios. He also has research responsibility for the industrials sector and for the Asia-Pacific region. Simon joined the company in 1999 as a trainee UK Equities portfolio manager, progressing to portfolio manager in January 2005, where he managed the Threadneedle UK Mid 250 Fund and co-managed the Threadneedle UK Extended Alpha Fund. Simon graduated with a degree in biology from Oxford University in 1999 and also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. | ||
