Multi-billionare and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk hinted at a possible collaboration with Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) today after responding to a user on Twitter. The user, going by the name of Zack, expressed his hopes that the aviation and aerospace company responsible for Starlink would partner with Apple to “help connectivity with the new iPhone 14 via Emergency SOS with the satellites.”
Elon Musk, being the ever-present Twitter user that he is, responded to Zack, suggesting that conversations between the companies are already taking place.
Musk posted, “We’ve had some promising conversations with Apple about Starlink connectivity. iPhone team is obv super smart.”
“For sure, closing link from space to phone will work best if phone software & hardware adapt to space-based signals vs Starlink purely emulating cell tower,” Musk added.
