Palantir Technologies lifts guidance after Q2 results beat Wall Street estimates
Investing.com -- Visteon Corp got upgrades from both Baird and Goldman Sachs, as analysts were more optimistic about the auto parts maker’s positioning amid U.S. trade tensions and rising demand for digital cockpit systems.
Baird raised its rating on Visteon (NASDAQ:VC) to Outperform from Neutral, given improving visibility into second-quarter earnings, resilient North American exposure, and potential upside from disruption at competitors.
Goldman Sachs also upgraded the stock to Buy driven by new business wins at Toyota (NYSE:TM) and solid order momentum.
Shares of Visteon, which specializes in digital cockpit electronics, have underperformed broader auto suppliers this year but are now seen benefiting from a more favorable backdrop, especially in tariff-buffered markets like the U.S. and Mexico.
Baird highlighted Visteon’s compliance with the USMCA trade agreement, 97% of its operations qualify, which could shield it from U.S. auto tariffs hitting other suppliers.
The firm also cited attractive display growth in Asia and a still-low valuation that has historically preceded share outperformance.
Goldman said it now expects Toyota to account for about 10% of Visteon’s revenue by 2028, a significant step-up from a previously limited relationship.
That, along with improved U.S. auto sales data and less severe-than-expected tariff impacts, supports the bullish call.
Both brokerages lifted their estimates and price targets ahead of Visteon’s second-quarter results.
Goldman, however, maintained a cautious view on overall U.S. electric vehicle demand, trimming its EV sales outlook for 2025 and 2026 due to weak Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) performance and slowing momentum at legacy OEMs.
Still, analysts see Visteon as relatively insulated, with exposure skewed toward traditional nameplates and growth tied more to digital feature adoption than EV penetration.
Visteon is expected to report earnings later this month.
