The Corporate Goods Price Index (CGPI) measures the change in the selling prices of goods purchased by companies in Japan. In essence, the CGPI reports the Japanese inflation rate from the manufacturer's point of view. It is one indicator of future consumer inflation trends.

A reading that is stronger than forecast is generally supportive (bullish) for the JPY, while a weaker than forecast reading is generally negative (bearish) for the JPY.
