Biography Stephen Evans, CFA, has served as a Managing Director of Advisory Research Inc and Portfolio Manager since 2017. Prior to joining ARI, he served as Senior Portfolio Manager within U.S. Trust for 14 years. Mr. Evans was also a portfolio manager with Merrill Lynch Investment Management for five years specializing in trust portfolio management and privately managed accounts. During his tenure in the financial services industry he has held positions as a financial advisor with Paine Webber and a mortgage banker with Arlington Capital Mortgage. Mr. Evans graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 1984 and earned his M.A. in English from McNeese State University. Mr. Evans has also done graduate coursework in Finance and Economics at Princeton University and earned an M.B.A. (with distinction) from Rider University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is a member of both the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA).

Biography Mr. Edwards is the Head of GMO’s Usonian Japan Equity team and a partner of the firm. Prior to joining GMO in 2020, he served as Portfolio Manager, Chief Investment Officer (CIO), and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Usonian Investments LLC. Mr. Edwards has been a member of the Usonian team since 2008. Prior to founding Usonian, he was Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Advisory Research, Inc. Previously, Mr. Edwards had also been an investment professional at Taiyo Pacific Partners, an activist fund backed by CalPERS and W. L. Ross that focuses on Japanese equities, an investment banker at Lehman Brothers, and a finance executive in the health care industry. He earned his BA in International Business from Sophia University (Tokyo) and his MBA and JD from Northwestern University. Mr. Edwards is proficient in Japanese.

Biography Jonathan P. Brodsky founded Cedar Street in 2016. Prior to founding Cedar Street, Mr. Brodsky established the non-U.S. investment practice at Advisory Research, Inc., (“ARI”) a Chicago-based asset management firm. Prior to joining ARI in 2004, Mr. Brodsky worked for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (“SEC”) Office of International Affairs, focusing on cross-border regulatory, corporate governance, and enforcement matters. Prior to the SEC, Mr. Brodsky was an investment banker in corporate finance for JPMorgan Securities, Inc. Mr. Brodsky also worked for Ogilvy & Mather in Beijing, China. Mr. Brodsky began his investment career in 2000. Jonathan holds a B.A. in political science and an M.A. in international relations from Syracuse University and an M.B.A. and J.D. from Northwestern University. Jonathan is proficient in Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.
