Biography | Daniel P. Brown, CFA is an Investment Officer with Annex Wealth Management LLC. He works closely with the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to establish investment policy and strategy, strategic and tactical asset allocation, active manager selection, and the development of Annex's discretionary managed portfolios. He is a member of the Investment Policy Committee and interacts closely with the firm's financial Advisors. Mr. Brown joined Annex in 2013 and has nearly 20 years of investment management experience. He holds a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, holds his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the Chicago Quantitative Alliance (CQA). As a holder of the CFA designation, Dan is bound by the CFA Institute's Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct, which, among many other things, requires a charter holder to place the integrity of the investment management profession and the interests of clients above their own interests. With over 23 years of experience in investment management, trust and banking, Dan has a strong background in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Annex, Dan worked for 20 years at M&I Investment Management/BMO Global Asset Management as a Director and equity Fund Manager. While at M&I/BMO he managed numerous equity strategies including: dividend income, large-cap value, tax efficient, socially responsible and fundamental index. He managed both mutual funds and separate account strategies for a variety of clients utilizing active and passive management techniques. Dan is recognized as an inventor by the U.S. Patent office for two business method patents related to tax efficient investing. |
