Biography | Brian is a senior portfolio manager, research analyst, and executive managing director at Sands Capital. He joined Sands Capital in 2006 as a research associate, covering life sciences, after completing the first year of the MBA program at the Yale School of Management as a Silver Scholar. In 2008, Brian returned to complete the second year of the MBA program while continuing to work part time for Sands Capital. Following the completion of his MBA, he resumed working full time and rejoined as a research analyst, covering life sciences. In 2011, Brian became a co-portfolio manager of the Emerging Markets Growth strategy. In 2017, he was promoted to senior portfolio manager, and he was named as a director on the executive management team, which provides strategic leadership across the firm, in 2018. He became a co-portfolio manager on the Global Growth strategy in 2020 and was named director of stewardship in 2021. He served in this role until 2023, when a senior analyst on the stewardship team succeeded him. Prior to 2008, Mr. Kansari worked as an Associate, Sr. Business Analyst at PRTM in Waltham, Massachusetts, from 2002 to 2006. From 1999 to 2002, he worked as a Graduate Research Assistant for the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. From 1996 to 1999, he worked as an Application Analyst at Millennium Solutions, Universal Impex and as an Accounting Trainee at Mahajan & Aibara: Shah Gupta & Co. in Mumbai, India. Mr. Kansari earned his BE in Electronics Engineering from the University of Mumbai (1996), and his MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia (2002). Biography | Jerry Zhang is a senior portfolio manager and co-head of the Intrinsic Emerging Markets Equity team at Allspring Global Investments. In this capacity, he has oversight and portfolio management responsibility for all portfolios managed by the team. Jerry joined Allspring from its predecessor firm, Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM). He joined WFAM from Evergreen Investments, where he served in a similar role and earlier was a senior analyst. Before that, he was an emerging market equity research analyst at Oppenheimer Asset Management. Jerry began his investment industry career in 1999. He earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Nankai University and a Ph.D. in economics from Vanderbilt University.
