AI Tokens Surge; Musk Sees China as Ally in Ethical Development of AI

  • Elon Musk believes China is “on Team Humanity” when it comes to artificial intelligence (AI).
  • The tech mogul is back from his China visit, where he met several Chinese political and business leaders.
  • Meanwhile, The Graph (GRT), Render Token (RNDR), and Injective (INJ) are CoinMarketCap’s top trending AI tokens.

Elon Musk, in a recent Twitter Spaces, said that he believes China is “on Team Humanity” when it comes to artificial intelligence (AI). The SpaceX CEO informed his followers that China would also be willing to work on standard guidelines for AI.

Musk just returned from a China visit, which was his first in over three years. During his stay, the billionaire tech mogul met with several ministers including the industries minister Jin Zhuanglong and foreign minister Qin Gang. Following his visit, however, Musk did not immediately make public comments about the trip or the interactions he had. The BBC called this “uncharacteristically quiet,” as Musk is known for his loud presence on Twitter.

Breaking his silence on the matter, Musk acknowledged that while there could be vested interests, the government in Beijing was interested in working on developing a cooperative international framework regarding AI regulations.

Musk has been a leading voice in AI discussions ever since AI tools started to flood the market this year. In a letter sent co-signed by numerous dignitaries and published in March, Musk highlighted that AI systems with “human-competitive intelligence can pose profound risks to society and humanity.” The leaders who signed the petition urged AI tech companies and their heads to pause development and jointly create safety guidelines for advanced AI technology.

Meanwhile, the crypto space has been quick to adopt AI. As the AI industry grows and continues to gather momentum, AI tokens have gained the attention of crypto investors. Among popular AI tokens, The Graph (GRT), priced at $0.1183, appears to be a major contender with a nearly 3% surge over the past day. Another leading AI token is SingularityNET (AGIX), which at $0.2587, has shown a 12.9% hike during the last 24 hours. Other top players on the trending list are Render Token (RNDR) and Injective (INJ).
