  • Philcoin forms strategic alliances with the Cabécar “Chirripo” tribe to reshape the region’s blockchain space.
  • Philcoin aims to use blockchain technology to contribute to infrastructure development, such as roads, schools, hospitals, and telecommunication infrastructures.
  • This partnership would bring transformation, inclusion, and security to indigenous tribes, empowering underserved communities.

Recently, Philcoin formed strategic partnerships in Latin America, aiming to reshape the region’s blockchain landscape and revolutionize philanthropy. This follows the non-profit organization’s agreement in early December with the Cabécar “Chirripo” tribe in Costa Rica, the country’s largest indigenous tribe.

Through this alliance, Philcoin plans to contribute to infrastructure development, such as roads, schools, hospitals, and telecommunication infrastructures among others, addressing challenges faced by the Cabécar “Chirripo” tribe, like several indigenous groups, such as land rights, access to education, technology, access to proper healthcare, etc.

In addition to solving real-world problems, the organization recognizes blockchain technology’s potential as a catalyst for the greater good, on top of being a financial tool. In fact, in a recent interview with Jerry Lopez, CEO of Philcoin, he said:

When I was introduced to the blockchain space in early 2015, I realized this technology had great potential to revolutionize the way giving and earning happen.

Addressing challenges the indigenous community faces, Philcoin intends to leverage blockchain technology and believes the immutability that blockchain technology offers could, for one, preserve and maintain historical records and territorial boundaries of the community, possibly protecting land rights.

Additionally, the system could help prevent encroachment on vital indigenous resources, ensuring the continuity of the community’s legacy. The indigenous tribe residing in the mountain ranges of Talamanca is also known for the direct sales of crafts, artifacts, and valuables. Establishing a blockchain system would empower such artisans to sell valuables, ensuring a safe and secure trading environment.

Philcoin’s initiatives aim to transform the indigenous tribes, ensuring inclusion and security in several ways, while also empowering communities that might have been previously underserved. In essence, Philcoin’s initiatives have the potential to uplift and transform various aspects of the region, fostering economic growth and digital accessibility.

The organization’s innovative ecosystem, dedicated to bridging the gap between philanthropy and technology, recognizes the potential for blockchain technology.
