Cardano CEO and founder Charles Hoskinson has criticized the XRP community over what he calls a “relentless, overwhelming campaign” against him. Hoskinson called on the principal figures of the XRP project, including Brad Garlinghouse, to come out and physically denounce the attacks.
Hoskinson made the statement during a recent AMA (Ask Me Anything) video session uploaded on Monday, February 19, 2024. The interactive session covered several topics, including lifestyle, scientific innovations, Hoskinson’s other endeavors, international politics, and his blockchain project, Cardano.

One of Hoskinson’s guests on the show, claiming to be an XRP community member, registered his acceptance of the Cardano CEO’s response to attacks from members of the XRP community. Hoskinson noted a few individuals did not prosecute the attacks, as suggested by the guest. He believes it was a well-planned process orchestrated by the core of the XRP project.
According to Hoskinson, the attack was a campaign based on a lie that even the founders of XRP refused to acknowledge. He stated he would love to see the principal figures of the XRP project, including Brad Garlinghouse, come out and physically denounce the attacks.
Emphatically, Hoskinson repeatedly clarified that he never once said that ETHGate didn’t happen. However, he believes it doesn’t matter and has nothing to do with the litigation between XRP and Ripple.
Ripple has faced an arduous court case with the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission over the correct status of XRP. A conspiracy theory emerged over the years, suggesting the attack on XRP aims to eliminate competition for Ethereum. Hoskinson disagreed with the theory and faced a backlash from the XRP community, resulting in the existing rift between both parties.
Hoskinson reiterated that the XRP community is disinterested in settling the rift between them. According to the Cardano CEO, they do not want to acknowledge that both parties are talking past each other, despite his efforts to make them understand.
