Asian stocks advanced on Thursday, tracking solid gains on
Wall Street as data pointed to slowing economic growth in

Oil prices inched lower on Thursday after solid gains the
day before, pressured by data showing a

SOUTH AFRICA MARKETS
South Africa's rand was little changed late on Wednesday,
struggling for momentum along with stocks as worries that a
prolonged U.S.-China trade war will slow global growth put
emerging markets under pressure. MARKETS
The Kenyan shilling KES= was unchanged on Wednesday and
traders said they expected it to weaken due to excess
liquidity in the money markets due to government payments
made at the close of its fiscal year in
end-June. ECONOMY
Kenya's private sector activity jumped in June, helped by
increased local and external demand for goods, a survey
showed on Wednesday, and it was seen improving further after
government departments pay their outstanding
bills. ECONOMY
Zimbabwe has run out of passports and vehicle registration
number plates, forcing citizens to wait for long periods to
get them - yet another sign of a desperate shortage of U.S.
