EVENTS:
GHANA - The statistics office is scheduled to release
inflation data for May. The rate jumped to 10.6% in April.

GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian stock markets eked out a 10th consecutive session of
gains on Wednesday, but momentum ebbed as doubts about the
global recovery from the pandemic returned ahead of the U.S.
Federal Reserve meeting.

WORLD OIL PRICES
Oil prices fell on Wednesday after data showed a rise in
crude and fuel stockpiles in the United States, reviving
concerns about oversupply and falling fuel demand in the
world's largest crude consumer amid the coronavirus
outbreak.

SOUTH AFRICA MARKETS
South Africa's rand ended the local session largely
unchanged on Tuesday, pausing its rally as traders took
profits after a strong advance by emerging currencies
spurred by global economic recovery hopes.
PRESIDENT
President Pierre Nkurunziza, a fitness enthusiast who
increasingly relied on religion and repression to rule the
impoverished and unstable central African nation of Burundi
for 15 years, has died, the government announced on Tuesday.
SECURITY
Boko Haram gunman killed at least 69 people and razed a
village to the ground in northern Nigeria's Borno state on
Tuesday afternoon, three sources told Reuters.
MARKETS
The Kenyan shilling KES= edged down on Tuesday due to an
uptick in demand for dollars by some importers.
NILE TALKS
Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia on Tuesday resumed talks on the
giant Blue Nile hydropower dam after the failure of a
U.S-led mediation effort earlier this year, a Sudanese
official said.
ELECTION
Malawi will go to the polls on June 23, a week earlier than
initially ordered by the courts, which annulled President
Peter Mutharika's narrow election victory last year due to
irregularities.
