China removes ban on Boeing deliveries after US trade deescalation- Bloomberg

Investing.com-- China has removed a month-long ban preventing local airlines from taking delivery of Boeing (NYSE:BA) planes, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, just shortly after Beijing and Washington agreed to a deescalation in their trade war.

Government officials have begun instructing local carriers and government agencies this week that deliveries from the U.S. planemaker can resume, the Bloomberg report said, citing people familiar with the matter.

The report comes just hours after the U.S. and China temporarily agreed to slash steep trade tariffs levied against each other. Washington will cut its China tariffs to 30% from 145%, while Beijing will lower its U.S. tariffs to 10% from 125%, at least for the next 90 days.

The move brings some relief to Boeing, after reports in April showed China had ordered all its airlines to halt plane deliveries from Boeing. The planemaker was also reportedly forced to fly back some of its jets from China after local companies refused to take deliveries.

Boeing was seen seeking alternative customers in Asia and Europe after the block on deliveries.
