Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who also serves as Iran’s lead nuclear negotiator, called the strikes "outrageous" in a statement posted on social media platform X.
"The events this morning are outrageous and will have everlasting consequences," Araghchi wrote.
The Foreign Minister added that "each and every member of the UN must be alarmed over this extremely dangerous, lawless and criminal behavior."
Araghchi emphasized that Iran maintains the right to defend itself, stating that "Iran reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interests, and people."
