It takes short positions and uses derivatives such as swap agreements to invest in stocks of companies operating across diversified sectors. The fund invests in stocks of large cap and mid cap companies. It seeks to replicate inverse of the daily performance of the Swiss Market Index, by using synthetic replication methodology. The fund was formerly known as db x-trackers - SMI Short Daily ETF. db x-trackers - SMI Short Daily UCITS ETF was formed on March 2, 2010 and is domiciled in Luxembourg.
