Biography Joseph Gerard Paul was appointed Chief Investment Officer for North American Value Equities in 2009. He has also served as CIO of the Advanced Value Fund since 1999. Paul was previously CIO of Small & Mid-Cap Value (2002–2008) and co-CIO of Real Estate Investments (2004–2008). Additionally, he was director of research for the Advanced Value Fund for two years. In that role, Paul was instrumental in the genesis of the Advanced Value leveraged hedge fund. He joined AB in 1987 as a research analyst covering the automotive industry, and was named to the Institutional Investor All-America Research Team every year from 1991 through 1996. Before joining the firm, Paul worked at General Motors in marketing and product planning. Biography Gregory Powell, PhD, oversees the Portfolio Management Team. Greg is the designated lead or co-lead Portfolio Manager on the firm’s core strategies. In addition, he holds a position on Miller/Howard’s Executive Committee. Greg joined Miller/Howard in 2017 and served as a portfolio manager and Deputy Chief Investment Officer. He was promoted to CIO in 2020, after the retirement of founder Lowell Miller. Prior to joining MHI, Greg had a distinguished 19-year career as a portfolio manager and director of research at AllianceBernstein. At AB, he managed a team of 12 analysts and a suite of products with $11 billion in AUM. He also served as head of fundamental value research there, redesigning the analyst role with an emphasis on investment success and training analysts in all aspects of the position. He holds a BA in Economics/Mathematics from the University of California Santa Barbara, and a PhD and MA in Economics from Northwestern University.

Prior to that, he spent six years as a consultant for Deloitte & Touche and the Boston Consulting Group.

Biography David Yuen joined Franklin Templeton Investments in 2000.He was appointed Chief Investment Officer of Global Long/Short Absolute Return Strategy in 2010. Previously, he was co-CIO of US Large Cap Value Equities and CIO of the Advanced Value Fund (since 2009), as well as director of research for US Large Cap Value (since early 2008). Yuen had been the director of research for Emerging Markets Value since August 2002. He joined Bernstein in 1998 as a research analyst, covering the global retailing industry, and became a senior research analyst in 1999, covering retail, textile & apparel, gaming & lodging, and consumer appliances. Prior to joining Bernstein, Yuen worked as a senior vice president of The Coleman Company from 1994 to 1998. From 1988 to 1994, he was a consultant, then partner, at WKI, a management-consulting firm specializing in emerging-market strategies. Prior to that, Yuen was a consultant with Bain & Company. From 1986 to 1999, she was at UBS Brinson and its predecessor organizations, where she progressed from quantitative analyst to managing director and co-head of U.S. Fixed Income. Nagaswami holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Biography Mr. Pisarkiewicz is Senior Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager of Matrix Asset Advisors. His principal responsibilities are to help oversee the business development and client service efforts of the Firm. He is also a member of the Investment Policy Committee sharing oversight responsibilities for portfolio construction. Mr. Pisarkiewicz joined Matrix in 2009. He earned a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Missouri in 1972, and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley in 1979. From 2007 to 2009, he served as National Managing Director for Bernstein Global Wealth Management. In this role, he directed the efforts of the firm’s Financial Advisors in advising some of the largest families for whom Bernstein provides wealth management. From 2003 through 2007, he served as Executive Vice President of The Bank of New York and head of BNY Asset Management. His responsibilities included both Private Wealth Management and Institutional Asset Management. Prior to BNY, Steve spent nearly 14 years at AllianceBernstein. In his last position at AB, he was Chief Investment Officer of Structured Equity Services as well as a senior portfolio manager and member of the Investment Policy Group for value equities. Previous roles include running Institutional Sales, Consultant Relations & Client Service; when Steve joined Bernstein in 1989, he was the MD of the New York Private Client business. Prior to joining Bernstein, he was a vice president and senior consultant with SEI Corporation from 1983 to 1989, and a Director of Strategic Planning for Emerson Electric Company from 1979 to 1983.
