Biography	Steve Block, CFA joined Phocas in March 2006. From 1996 to 2005, he worked at Bay Isle. In addition to being Senior Portfolio Manager for private clients, Mr. Block was Co-Portfolio Manager of Bay Isle’s Large Cap Value and REIT institutional products; he was also the Portfolio Manager of that firm’s Dividend Capture product. At Bay Isle Mr. Block was responsible for all non-REIT equity recommendations to Bay Isle’s high net-worth clients. Additionally, he helped set investment policies, recommended investment strategies, and educated that firm’s private client Portfolio Managers on the markets, economy, and future directions. Prior to joining Bay Isle, Mr. Block served as Senior Financial Analyst for two years in M&T Bank’s corporate finance department. He also spent three years as an employee benefit plan Actuarial Consultant for Howard Johnson & Company. Mr. Block received his M.B.A. from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business in accounting and finance. He received his B.A. in Quantitative Economic Decision Science from University of California, San Diego. Mr. Block also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and is a member of the Security Analysts of San Francisco.

Biography	William Schaff, Chief Executive Officer and President, joined Phocas in 2005. Prior to joining Phocas, Mr. Schaff was President of Bay Isle, Portfolio Manager at Janus Capital Management and Lead Portfolio Manager at the Undiscovered Managers organization. He earned an M.S. in Engineering from the University of California, Davis. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and is a member of the Security Analysts of San Francisco.
