Biography "Nick Schommer is a Portfolio Manager at Janus Henderson Investors and has managed the Opportunistic Alpha strategy since 2017. Prior to joining Janus in 2013, Nick spent a year working as an associate portfolio manager at Thornburg Investment Management. Biography Dan Kozlowski is the Founder, Managing Member and CIO of Plaisance Capital, LLC. Prior re-establishing Plaisance Capital LLC in September 2017, Dan worked for Janus Capital, serving as the Executive Vice President and Portfolio Manager of the $4B Janus Contrarian Fund and the Nikko Global Opportunistic Equity Account from 2012 through August 2017. Dan managed the Plaisance Fund LP in conjunction with the Contrarian Fund throughout his tenure at Janus according to the same value-based investment philosophy. Dan chose to leave Janus Capital following its merger with Henderson PLC. Dan founded Plaisance Capital LLC in late 2008, with the Plaisance Fund launching in early 2009 under his leadership. Dan managed the Plaisance Fund independently from early 2009 until he (for the second time) and the Fund joined Janus Capital in July 2011. In his first tenure with Janus Capital, Dan served as a Portfolio Manager and Executive Vice President of the Janus Long Short Fund, a $1.3B hedged equity fund from 2006 through early 2008. Prior to his portfolio management roles, Dan served as an equity analyst for the Janus Contrarian Fund from 2000-2006 covering insurance, banking, specialty finance, retail and media industries. Dan also served as research analyst focused on Asian markets for the Janus Worldwide Fund and Janus Overseas Fund concurrent with his role on the Contrarian Value team. Prior to joining Janus Capital, Dan served as a research analyst/intern for Ariel Capital focused on small and mid-cap value portfolios. Biography David Decker is Portfolio Manager of the Janus Opportunistic Alpha strategy and is Portfolio Manager and Executive Vice President of Janus Contrarian Fund. Mr. Decker is also Co-Portfolio Manager of the Janus Long/Short strategy and Co-Portfolio Manager and Executive Vice President of Janus Long/Short Fund. He has been managing alpha-seeking strategies for Janus since becoming a portfolio manager in 1997. Mr. Decker joined Janus in August 1992 as an equity research analyst focusing on automotives, chemicals and defense stocks. Prior to joining Janus, he was a credit analyst at NationsBank. Mr. Decker received his bachelor of arts degree in economics and political science from Tufts University and he received his MBA in finance from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and has 21 years of financial industry experience.
Matthew A. Ankrum Senior Portfolio Manager 2006 2007
Biography Matthew Ankrum serves as Portfolio Manager at the Sub-Adviser, having joined the firm in January 2024. Mr. Ankrum has been in the investment business for nearly 20 years serving initially as an analyst at William Blair & Company, then as an analyst and portfolio manager for Janus Capital from 1996 to 2006 before joining Lateef Investment Management to be a portfolio manager and managing director of its concentrated, growth portfolio. In addition, Mr. Ankrum served as head of strategy for a Fortune 500 company, Apollo Education Group, prior to founding a financial technology software-as-a-service business. He was CEO of Plasticity Centers, a brain neuro-rehabilitation company until 2021. In addition, Matthew has served on numerous public and private company boards. Mr. Ankrum received a Master of Business Administration in Economics from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 1997 and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1992. He holds the CFA designation.
