Biography Brian Timberlake is the head of fixed income research at Voya Investment Management and is responsible for managing the organization’s global fixed income research analysts as well as the coordination of macroeconomic data across the fixed income platform. Prior to this position, Mr. Timberlake was Head of Quantitative Research and before that, a Senior Quantitative Analyst. He joined Voya IM in 2003. His team is responsible for macro and quantitative fixed income research and provides additional assistance to individual sector groups and the risk management team. Biography Jean-Dominique Bütikofer, CFA, Portfolio Manager, is Head of Emerging Markets for Voya IM’s fixed-income team. Mr. Bütikofer directs the investment strategy for Emerging Markets, including sovereign and corporate debt, macro analysis, country research, sovereign risk, currencies, local rates and asset allocation across sub asset-classes. Prior to joining Voya IM in 2014, he served as the head of emerging markets fixed income — macro, sovereign and currencies — for Union Bancaire Privee (UBP Investment Management) in Zurich (2006-2014).

Biography Naveen Kunam, Portfolio Manager with the Global Emerging Markets Debt Team, joined ING IM in 2010. Prior to that, Mr. Kunam worked as a Vice President in Santander Investment Securities Inc. New York covering Latin America Fixed Income and Currencies. Prior to that, he held roles as a Fixed Income Research Analyst in Oppenheimer Funds Inc. in New York (2005 – 2006) and as a Consultant in FreddieMac, McLean, VA (2004 – 2005).

Biography Marcelo Assalin, CFA, an Associate of William Blair Investment Management, LLC, the head of the Emerging Markets Debt team. He is also a member of the leadership team for William Blair Investment Management. Prior to joining William Blair, Marcelo was the Head of Emerging Markets Debt at NN Investment Partners (formerly ING Investment Management), a role he began in 2015. Additionally, he was the lead portfolio manager for blended debt portfolios. Previously, Marcelo was the lead portfolio manager for NNIP’s local currency strategies. Before joining NNIP in 2013, he was a senior EMD portfolio manager and then head of EM Sovereign Debt at ING IM USA (now Voya Financial). Prior to ING IM, Marcelo was with SulAmerica Investimentos in various investment capacities, including CIO from 2005 to 2008. He began his career as a credit analyst at Bank Boston in Sao Paulo, covering Brazilian companies. He also has the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Education: B.A., Universidade de São Paulo.
