Blink Charging Co. (BLNK) announced it will integrate cryptocurrency payment options across its charging network by the end of 2025, according to a company press release.
The electric vehicle charging company said drivers will be able to pay with cryptocurrency through the Blink Charging App. The Maryland-based company operates charging equipment and services globally.
"The EV community is one of early adopters," said Harmeet Singh, Chief Technology Officer at Blink. "EV drivers propel innovation and embrace the future before it becomes the norm and we’re excited to be able to serve the community with the latest technology in payments."
Blink stated it plans to develop its cryptocurrency strategy further, with additional details to be shared later this year. The company indicated it may include loyalty rewards programs and other features in the rollout.
The company said the initiative aims to provide drivers with additional payment choices and enhance convenience. Blink operates charging stations across various location types including parking facilities, workplaces, airports, hotels, and retail locations.
Blink’s charging network uses cloud-based software to operate, maintain, and track charging stations and associated data. The company has established partnerships for deployment across multiple facility types.
