Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has responded to a Twitter jab from Ran Neuner, the founder of the YouTube channel Crypto Banter. In a tweet, Neuner trolled Hoskinson for embarking on a deep ocean expedition. According to him, Cardano’s user base is now so low that they are embarking on missions to find aliens as users.

Hoskinson returned the banter with an indirect punchline that invoked Neuner’s involvement with Luna. Replying to Neuner’s tweet, the Cardano founder said the network still has more users than Luna.

In 2022, Neuner said he lost more money than he would have ever expected in a day in the aftermath of the Luna crash. In an interview uploaded on YouTube, the Crypto Banter host explained how he lost nine figures, equivalent to 50% of his portfolio in one day. He described it as the worst day of his life.

Neuner and Hoskinson have a history of attacking one another in the crypto space. In January, Hoskinson criticized the YouTuber for shilling Solana and Luna, without giving Cardano a fair representation. The criticism followed an uploaded video where Neuner implied Cardano’s development community was nearly non-existent compared to blockchains like Ethereum, Solana, Near, and Cosmos.

This time, Neuner’s banter targeted Hoskinson’s participation in the Galileo Project. It is an expedition in the Pacific Ocean in search of an unidentified flying object. Hoskinson reportedly funded the project up to the tune of $1.5 million. Harvard astronomer Avi Loeb and his student Amir Siraj, who identified a “meteor of interstellar origin” that crashed into Earth from outer space in 2014, are leading the expedition.

Hoskinson confirmed that he was with the expedition team, noting they found strange pieces of wire and fragments that could be from the crash. He also confirmed there was a long way to go on the expedition despite the early achievements.
