  • TRON surpasses BNB Chain and Ethereum in active on-chain addresses.
  • Nansen’s data shows TRON had 17.1 million active addresses in June.
  • BNB experienced a slight decline, with 11.9 million active addresses.

The TRON (TRX) blockchain network has recently emerged as a formidable player in the crypto space, surpassing BNB Chain and Ethereum in terms of active addresses. In a recent tweet, Nansen, a blockchain data and research provider, highlighted this significant development.

According to Nansen’s update, TRON led the pack with 17.1 million active addresses in June, representing a substantial 42% increase month-on-month. On the other hand, BNB saw a slight decline, with 11.9 million active addresses, resulting in a 4% decrease. Although Ethereum maintained its strong position, it recorded 5.8 million active addresses, marking a 23% rise.

For context, active addresses by chain is a metric for measuring the overall activity on a blockchain, including sending or receiving crypto, creating a smart contract, or interacting with a DeFi application.

The latest update from Nansen garnered considerable attention from the crypto community. TRON DAO, the national blockchain for Dominica, celebrated TRON’s accomplishment and emphasized TRON’s leadership. However, an individual shared a counter-enthusiastic response, stating that he had not seen anyone who actually utilized TRON, despite his extensive network of acquaintances.

Previously, Coin Edition captured the incredible growth witnessed in May. The report indicated that despite the prevailing bear market, the numbers told a different story altogether, revealing significant strides made by various blockchain networks.

Specifically, Solana experienced an 86% surge in active addresses in May, reaching 9.5 million. BNB Chain remained highly active, with 12.4 million addresses, marking a 14% increase. Ethereum recorded 4.7 million active addresses, with a slight 4% decline. Notably, TRON made its debut on the list with a noteworthy 12.1 million active addresses.
