Bank of America just raised its EUR/USD forecast
Investing.com -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated Tuesday that U.S. President Donald Trump and his team appear genuinely committed to achieving a "long-term and sustainable peace" in Ukraine, based on discussions at Friday’s U.S.-Russia summit in Alaska.
Lavrov described the atmosphere at the Putin-Trump meeting as "very good" in comments to the Rossiya 24 state television channel.
"It was clear that the head of the United States and his team, firstly, sincerely want to achieve a result that will be long-term, sustainable, reliable," Lavrov said.
The Russian foreign minister drew a distinction between the U.S. approach and that of European leaders, who participated in a special summit at the White House on Monday with Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
According to Lavrov, European officials have "insisted at every turn only on a cease-fire, and that after that they would continue to supply weapons to Ukraine."
