Investing.com -- The British pound jumped nearly half a cent against the euro and by more against the dollar, after Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his Irish counterpart Leo Varadkar said they saw a "pathway to a possible deal" on Brexit. They provided no details in a brief joint statement, but the statement alone revived hopes that talks on avoiding a disorderly departure from the EU would at least continue ahead of a make-or-break summit of EU heads of government next week.
