on Tuesday as speculation of coordinated stimulus from

Oil prices bounced around 6% on Tuesday, but analysts saw

little chance of a major recovery from the biggest daily

SOUTH AFRICA MARKETS

South Africa's rand tumbled to a four-year low on Monday,

joining a global sell-off in riskier assets as the

coronavirus outbreak continued to spread globally and oil

prices collapsed. OIL

Nigeria, Africa's top oil producer, will cut the size of its

record 10.6 trillion naira ($34.6 billion) budget for 2020

because of a sharp decline in the price of crude, the

finance minister said on Monday. MARKETS

The Kenyan shilling KES= weakened on Monday due to dollar

demand from commercial banks beefing up their foreign

reserves outweighing inflows from diaspora remittances,

Ethiopian investigators singled out faulty systems on a

Boeing BA.N 737 MAX plane in an interim report on last

year's Ethiopian Airlines crash that killed 157 people,

The Democratic Republic of Congo has granted an insurance

licence to a subsidiary of Hong-Kong-listed Frontier

Services Group (FSG) 0500.HK , a security and logistics

Unidentified assailants killed at least 43 people in raids

on villages in northern Burkina Faso on Sunday, in one of

the deadliest such attacks of the past year, the government
