NAIROBI, Nov 23 (Reuters) - The following company announcements, scheduled economic
indicators, debt and currency market moves and political events may affect African markets on
Monday.

GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian shares climbed on Monday, with a broad regional index
touching a record high on hopes for imminent coronavirus
vaccines, but worries over the impact of economic lockdowns and
uncertainty over U.S. stimulus capped

WORLD OIL PRICES
Oil prices extended their gains on Monday as traders were
optimistic about a recovery in crude demand thanks to
successful coronavirus vaccine trials, but price gains were
contained by renewed lockdowns in several

SOUTH AFRICA MARKETS
South Africa's rand firmed slightly on Friday, buoyed by global
vaccine news, but investors were cautious ahead of credit
rating reviews expected later in the day. MARKETS
Kenya's shilling KES= weakened on Friday to a new all-time
low due to increased importer dollar demand from across all
sectors, traders said, adding they expect the trend to persist
in coming days. IMF
COVID-19 has exposed Kenya's debt vulnerabilities though
official measures including monetary policy easing have helped
shield the economy from the impact of the pandemic, the
International Monetary Fund (IMF) said late on
Friday. ECONOMY
Nigeria has slipped into a recession after its gross domestic
product contracted for the second consecutive quarter,
according to data released on Saturday which showed the impact
of the COVID-19 pandemic and low oil prices. CONFLICT
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed gave Tigrayan regional
forces 72 hours to surrender before the military begins an
offensive on the regional capital of Mekelle. FASO ELECTION
Polls closed in Burkina Faso on Sunday after a presidential and
parliamentary election dominated by the threat of Islamist
violence that prevented voting in hundreds of
