Nvidia and TSMC to unveil first domestic wafer for Blackwell chips, Axios reports
Investing.com -- Chinese automaker Dongfeng Motor announced plans on Thursday to triple its sales in Europe to 80,000 units next year, offering a diverse vehicle lineup across multiple powertrain technologies.
During a presentation in Turin, Italy, Dongfeng Europe’s CEO Xie Qian revealed that the company expects to sell between 25,000-30,000 vehicles in Europe this year, with ambitious growth targets for 2026.
The expansion strategy includes a portfolio of more than 10 models spanning from city cars to large SUVs and off-road pick-ups across three brands: Dongfeng, premium brand Voyah, and M-Hero for off-road vehicles.
"We’re betting on BEVs (battery electric vehicles) for the long term for sure. But for the mid-term, I think there is a place for plug-in and full hybrids," Xie said. He noted that internal combustion engine vehicles remain popular in certain European markets like Italy and Poland.
Xie emphasized flexibility in their approach: "Europe is a big and diversified market. We tend to be flexible."
The Chinese automaker’s European growth plans are supported by a dealer network currently at 170 locations, projected to expand to 280 by the end of 2025. While the company intends to enter most European countries, it will initially focus on Italy, Poland, Germany and France.
Xie outlined priorities for 2026: "Next year we’ll focus on improving customer satisfaction, improving the quality of our dealer network, of our points of sale, and also of the after-sales."
