DUBLIN - Eaton Corporation (NYSE: NYSE:ETN), a global power management company, has announced the digital transformation of its manufacturing operations with the integration of Industry 4.0 technology at two of its plants in Juarez, Mexico, and Changzhou, China. These facilities, representing a new build and a legacy site, are leveraging advanced digital technologies to enhance operational efficiency and are set to serve as blueprints for the digitalization of additional Eaton sites.

The Juarez site, operational for less than two years, employs over 500 people and has incorporated 10 Industry 4.0 technologies across its manufacturing processes. The use of connected equipment and real-time digital work instructions has resulted in an 18 percent improvement in on-time delivery. The plant's commitment to sustainability is evidenced by its LEED Gold certification and its ability to recycle or reuse 99.8% of all waste.

In Changzhou, a plant with nearly two decades of operation and over 370 employees, the integration of technologies such as additive manufacturing and autonomous robots has led to a 26% increase in overall factory efficiency. The site's Intelligent Energy Management solution, which optimizes power supply and monitors usage, has contributed to a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions since 2018.

Craig Sutton, Eaton's vice president of Industry 4.0, emphasized the importance of adapting to Industry 4.0 solutions to meet the growing demand for optimized production and customer experience enhancement. The company plans to expand its smart factory footprint with three additional sites in Austria, Brazil, and the United States by the end of 2024, following a substantial investment in North American manufacturing announced in 2023.
