LONDON, Jan 31 (Reuters) - European bourses gave up earlier
gains and turned flat to negative, after the UK announced its
first two cases of coronavirus on Friday.
The pan-European STOXX 600, which was trading in positive
territory prior to the announcement, fell 0.1%.
Regional indexes such as Germany's DAX .GDAXI , France's
CAC 40 .FCHI and London's FTSE were flat to slightly negative.
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared a global health
emergency on Thursday following a coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan,
China, which has spread to more than 9,800 people globally,
surpassing the total from the 2002-2003 SARS epidemic.
