Bank of America just raised its EUR/USD forecast
Investing.com -- At its annual Made by Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) event, the company unveiled the latest generation of Pixel phones and talked about the expanding role of Gemini, its proprietary chatbot and AI model, across its devices.
“This fall, it’s going to be coming to your car, to your TV, and to your smart speakers and smart display in the home... it’s going to be everywhere you are. We are even working on smart glasses with Gemini,” Rick Osterloh, Senior Vice President of Devices & Services at Google, said.
"There has been a lot of hype about (AI in phones) and frankly a lot of broken promises too, but Gemini is the real deal," Osterloh.
The tech giant unveiled the Pixel 10 lineup, including Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL, all running on the new Tensor G5 chip and featuring the Gemini Nano model.
Key additions include Magic Cue, which offers real-time contextual suggestions across Gmail, Calendar, and Messages, and Camera Coach (NYSE:TPR), providing live tips during and after photo captures.
Google also showcased AI features first revealed at its May developer conference, including real-time translation for phone calls.
The new Pixel phones maintain a similar design, but the base model now includes a telephoto lens.
Pricing was unchanged at $799 for the base model and $1,799 for the foldable, despite earlier concerns over potential tariff-driven increases.
The Pro versions support up to 100x zoom and come with a year of Google AI Pro access.
Google also introduced the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which carries the same features as the Pixel 10 but adds durability improvements, an IP68 water and dust resistance rating, and a new hinge rated for a decade of use.
It supports split-screen functionality and becomes the first foldable with Qi2 charging built in. Its 8-inch inner display is the largest among foldables.
Other launches included the Pixel Watch 4, featuring a personal AI health coach built with Gemini, smarter sleep and fitness tracking, and the first smartwatch with standalone emergency satellite communications.
Pixel Buds 2a were unveiled with Gemini access, Active Noise Cancellation, and improved water resistance. Google also introduced Pixelsnap charging accessories, including a Qi2 charger with stand and a 67W dual port charger.
Stifel analysts said the event was “very well done, hammering home the key differentiators relative to Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) devices, with Gemini (and Agents) as the center of attention.”
Pixel’s U.S. market share is still modest at around 3%, the firm said.
