Investing.com -- Honda (NYSE:HMC) announced the establishment of Fastport, a new B2B business focused on transforming last-mile delivery with micromobility solutions. The company will make its global debut at Eurobike in Frankfurt, Germany, June 25-29, 2025, where it will unveil the zero-emission Fastport eQuad prototype.
The all-electric quadricycle delivery vehicle is designed for use in bike lanes to help companies enhance urban logistics operations. Powered by Honda Mobile Power Pack swappable batteries and software-defined vehicle features, the Fastport eQuad aims to address urban congestion and increasing consumer demand for faster deliveries.
Honda plans to begin first edition vehicle deliveries in late 2025, with general mass production starting in summer 2026. The Fastport eQuad will be produced at the Honda Performance Manufacturing Center in Ohio.
"The Fastport team has worked tirelessly to create the Fastport eQuad, a zero-emission alternative to delivery vans that solves the challenge of last mile urban logistics by meeting the needs of urban residents expecting on-demand deliveries of packages, groceries and other items," said Jose Wyszogrod, general manager and founding member of Fastport.
The eQuad features a pedal-by-wire pedal-assist powertrain, swappable rechargeable batteries, regenerative braking system, and automatic parking brakes. For rider comfort, it includes a canopy with UV coating, ceramic tint option, ventilation fan, and full-frontal enclosure.
Fastport will offer large and small vehicle and cargo box container sizes for North American and European markets. The large model measures 144 inches in length, 84 inches in height, and 48 inches in width, with a maximum payload of 650 pounds. The small model is 133.9 inches long, 82.7 inches high, and 39.4 inches wide, with a 320-pound payload capacity. Both models have a maximum speed of 12 mph.
The company’s Fleet-as-a-Service platform provides a comprehensive solution including swappable batteries, cargo containers, maintenance plans, and AI-powered dashboards with real-time insights. Fastport is already engaging with major logistics and delivery companies for pilot test programs ahead of next year’s production launch.
The Honda Performance Manufacturing Center, which previously produced the Acura NSX supercar and other specialty vehicles, will handle production of the Fastport eQuad using domestic and global parts.
